Regulation 25 Notice of Inspector's Report - February 2025

Regulation 25 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012

As you may be aware, the Kent Minerals and Waste Local Plan 2024-39 (KMWLP) was submitted to the Secretary of State for independent examination on 17 May 2024. The Secretary of State subsequently appointed Planning Inspector Joanne Burston BSc MA MRTPI AIPROW to examine the Plan for its soundness and legal compliance. The independent examination included public hearings that took place in September 2024.

The Inspector has now issued her report to Kent County Council and, subject to certain modifications, concludes that the Plan is legally compliant and sound. In accordance with Regulation 25 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 this email and the attached notice informs you that the County Council has published the Inspector’s Report.

The Inspector’s Report is available to view on the County Council’s website via the following link https://www.kent.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0016/180520/Kent-MW-Local-Plan-Inspectors-Report-Main-Mods-Appendix-FINAL-6-Feb-2025.pdf and, in hard copy at the main County Council office - Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone, Kent ME14 1XQ between the hours of 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Elected Members of Kent County Council will decide whether to adopt the Plan at its meeting on 13 March 2025. You will be notified of the outcome of this meeting in due course.

All evidence documents relating to the Plan’s submission and examination are available in the online examination library: Kent Minerals and Waste Local Plan 2024 to 2039 - Kent County Council
