Temporary Road Closures & 20MPH Speed Limit– Thanet – from 5th January 2026 for up to 18 months

Because of a program of carriageway patching and preservation works, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on Various Roads, Thanet, as per the schedule below.

This Order takes effect on or after 5th January 2026 for a period of up to 18 months or until the works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advance of the works and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start. Road closures and other restrictions will be in effect when the appropriate signage and barriers are in place.

SCHEDULE - THANET

B2050 Manston Road, Manston (40300819)

From the junction of Manston Court Road to the bend.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed from the junction of Manston Court Road to the bend.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2050 Manston Road, A256 Haine Road, A256 Canterbury Road West, A299 Lord of The Manor Roundabout, A299 Hengist Way, B2190 Minster Road, B2190 Un-named Road From Minster Road To Columbus Avenue, B2190 Spitfire Way and vice versa.

Grinsell Hill, Ramsgate (40300592)

Between the junctions of Cottington Road and The Lanes.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Cottington Road and The Lanes.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Lanes, Foxborough Lane, Tothill Street, A299 Hengist Way, Cottington Road and vice versa.

The Lanes, Ramsgate (40301338)

Between the junctions of Foxborough Lane and Grinsell Hill.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of Foxborough Lane and Grinsell Hill.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Foxborough Lane, Tothill Street, A299 Hengist Way, Cottington Road, Grinsell Hill and vice versa.

Foxborough Lane, Ramsgate (40300534)

Between the junctions of The Lanes and Tothill Street.

A mandatory 20MPH speed limit will be imposed between the junctions of The Lanes and Tothill Street.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Tothill Street, A299 Hengist Way, Cottington Road, Grinsell Hill, The Lanes and vice versa.
